Website redesign for Singapore's largest flying machine competition in accordance to DSO's 50th Anniversary
SAFMC is Singapore’s largest flying machine competition, jointly organised by the Defence Science Organisation (DSO) and Singapore Science Center, with support from the Ministry of Defence (MINDEF). Attracting over 1000 participants a year, students across the region are tasked with constructing a flying machine to fulfil a specified objective, according to their respective categories. In accordance to DSO 50th Anniversary in 2022, Bonsey Jaden x Motion were commissioned to redesign the platform. As this is a recurring event that happens yearly, the website is designed and developed to be fully editable via CMS system for ease of update.
BRANDING A PLATFORM FROM 2 JOINT BRANDS
As SAFMC is a join collaboration between DSO and Science Centre, the challenge lies in injecting 2 institution's personalities into one synonimous platform. A combination of electric cool blue and warm yellow were chosen as colour representing the two organisation, with a mix of gradient tints to add more depths and colours, giving the platform a youthful look. The design also compliments SAFMC's vintage logo that was irreplaceable.
